Stand in Awe

Stand in Awe

Bible Class 2

Series: Common Bible Phrases 1

Meaning: Awe is the feeling of respect and amazement that you have when

you are faced with something or someone wonderful and often rather

frightening.

Bible verse:

Old Testament, Habakkuk 3:2  (World English Version) Yahweh, I have heard of your fame. I stand in awe of your deeds, Yahweh. Renew your work in the middle of the years. In the middle of the years make it known. In wrath, you remember mercy.

Famous Quotes:

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.”  Albert Einstein

“Create experiences that leave you in awe, for these will be the highlights of your life.” – Ryan Blair

A story from my experience (By John Saunders).

Some years ago, here in Japan, I had opportunity to visit the Otsuka Museum of Art. I entered the first main exhibit, which is a full-size replica of the Sistine Chapel with Da Vinci’s art. I haven’t been to the original Sistine Chapel to see the inside of the chapel and its beauty. When I walked into this replica, I just stood in awe at the immense size and beauty of what was all around me.

I hope you have an opportunity to visit either the original chapel or the replica at the Otsuka Museum, at least one of them.
